Dazzle Beauty Salon

I stumbled upon this salon not long after moving to NYC, and was so pleasantly surprised to find that it was not only inexpensive ($25 for a haircut/trim), but that the employees are superb. I've had one or two cuts with the owner (David, I think) and many with Oksana, and I highly recommend them. Mostly I can speak for Oksana -- she listens carefully to what I say I want, and delivers. She lets me talk for 10 minutes about how I don't want too much off, and she always pleasantly reassures me when I pipe in and ask her if she's still only cutting an inch off... (yeah, I'm that kind of client...).

All in all -- wonderfully kind people, talented with scissors, totally reasonable prices. And a great scalp massage with your hair wash, to boot. I don't ever write Yelp reviews, but they deserved a 5 star review. Read More...

I got a life booker and booked an appointment. Very friendly and attentive staff. Victor washed my hair and gave me an amazing scalp massage ! Then Michael talked to me a few minutes and asked me how I wanted my hair cut. I explained that I wanted to keep my length and just get a trim and a some bangs. I have been to Dazzle three times in the last 6 months and I always really enjoy it. I get a $25 wash and cut as a deal from Lifebooker, and unlike some other Lifebooker salons, they treat me very well and never give me grief about using the discount service.

Whenever I walk in they usually offer coffee or tea. The salon is pretty small, but decorated in a cute way and is very clean and well kept-up.

When the girl washes my hair, she is always really gentle and makes sure the temperature is okay, etc. One time the stylist was finishing up on another customer and the boss gave me a deep conditioning treatment for free, since I had to wait. It made my hair feel really soft, and I thought it was great that they offered that.

I've had my hair cut by Michael twice, and both times it's been really good. He takes his time and actually cares about what you want. If you say "cut 3 inches" he will actually cut 3 inches instead of 1 inch or 5 inches. Both cuts have turned out really nicely and they were exactly the length I asked for, which as we ladies know is kind of rare.

Honestly, there is nothing out of the ordinary about this salon, but it's much better than any of the other salons I've been to in the same price range. I will definitely be going back. Read More...
